Dynamic You!

Part 1 of ... (perhaps many) :-)

For as long as I can remember, I have been a certain way, where my belief system, or shall I say my value system has been different to that of my surroundings and my upbringing. See, I grew up in an orthodox Hindu home, but with only women. There was no men in our lives. No granddad, no dad, no brothers. My mother perpetually grew angry with my father who had abandoned us, but I loved him so very much until the age of eight, when I began to despise him for also not being around much - however inspite of that, I had this ideology of how a married couple should be, how a woman ought to be and what her role should be in the marriage. I didn't know where it all came from, but now being a newly Born Again for the third time in sixteen years, I am learning more about the Word of God now, than to indulge people on debates as to whether or not God exists.

There is also the receiving of the Holy Spirit within me, and understanding that Christ lives IN ME!

Today, was a brilliant womens conference at the Christ Embassy Church where I realised something important. The guiding voice that has been with me since I was a little girl, was indeed God Himself. Every time during my adult years, when I read spiritual books, I became overwhelmed because although I was never taught certain things, I always practised it for example:

1. Letting those who wronged me, be handled by the Hand of God, rather than taking legal action, or revenge for that matter.

1 Corinthians 7  (NIV)

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

When I was divorced, I didn't fight for anything, except my freedom. I didn't care about the money, the house or the cars. I walked out with a very unfair agreement, and worked two to three jobs to raise my kids and take care of my mother. In recent times, the man whose hands deprived me, ended up providing in our time of need, without any complaints. A blessing after 20 yrs.

However I was not without sin in the last year (August 2013 - August 2014) Terrible things happened since 2008, and I didn't realise that Born Agains are always under attack, and our only weapon is the Word of God and understanding how to use it to protect ourselves. I was lost, but thankfully, God being faithful as ever, reached out to me, and I have not looked back since!

2. Being a woman who looked within at her own abilities to raise her children, than to look for a man who had loads of money to look after me. As time went by, I became more of that woman God encouraged me to be, and I didn't know if I was on the right track, but Proverbs 31: 10-31 says it beautifully and now, makes me feel confident.

Proverbs 31:10-31 (AMP)

10 A capable, intelligent, and [b]virtuous woman—who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.

11 The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil.

12 She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.

13 She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands [to develop it].

14 She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs; she brings her household’s food from a far [country].

15 She rises while it is yet night and gets [spiritual] food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks.

16 She considers a [new] field before she buys or accepts it [expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duties by assuming other duties]; with her savings [of time and strength] she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard.

17 She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm.

18 She tastes and sees that her gain from work [with and for God] is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust].

19 She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy [whether in body, mind, or spirit].

21 She fears not the snow for her family, for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes for herself coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple [such as that of which the clothing of the priests and the hallowed cloths of the temple were made].

23 Her husband is known in the [city’s] gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.

24 She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles [or sashes that free one up for service].

25 Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]!

26 She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].

27 She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her, [saying],

29 [c]Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all.

30 Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates [of the city]!

A woman should be self sufficient, and not stress out her husband for every want or whim. That capability creates so much peace, harmony and love between two souls that share their lives together, there is no pressure, no strife or resentment.

There is so much more to share, and right now, I will leave readers with these two points and will share more next week.

The important thing to remember, is that all of us are Dynamic - When God's angel approached Gideon as the chosen one to defeat the Midianites, (Judges 6) he doubted himself so much, and not for one moment, did he see himself as GOD saw him - Brave, capable and courageous. We all suffer from that lack of self confidence. Let us be reminded that we should see ourselves as God sees us! Wonderfully, and fearfully made :-)  Then, let all praise be to God for creating us so marvelously :-)
